The Orbit Sleuth: A New CAUS Weekly Feature

Current watches from CyberSpace ORBIT
Kent Steadman, Editor
2/23/99

At the moment we are watching startling solar events and anomalies including awesome data returns from the SOHO spacecraft. ORBIT's main CAUSe is to try to make the dialogue visible: below are some strange sights from space.Take a gander and join in the head-scratching and debate. Feedback welcome!

1. ORBIT: Stargate IV, strange geometry near the sun. SOHO data returns often gives us a great jolt of wonder. Are we seeing events actual, data glitches, cosmic ray zaps or the ploys of winged spaceborne Leprechauns? Awesome! What do you think?

EMAIL: "NASA guys tell me that the streaks and blooms in the SOHO data are Cosmic Ray Strikes on the CCD imager."

True in some cases, the wee streaks, but other anomalies merit further investigation:

Notes from other researchers:

"Our friend is back. See attached image. There can be no doubt that is is a real object in that it casts the same "limbs" or "wings" as does Mercury when it is transiting the SOHO field of view.

It is noteworthy that after this frame was captured, NASA did not post images for 3 hours, additionally, the image posted at 3:42UT is edited. A vertical strip which does not exist on the Navy image has been filled in on the NASA image." http://www.cyberspaceorbit.com/sun/2-8c3sm.jpg

"Gee, I didn't know random cosmic rays flew in formation."

2. GABRIEL'S HORN: On Feb 17th and 18th we saw this stunning CME bloom coming right at us from good ol' Sol.

The Press and even mainstream science seemed to get really nervous about the consequences of this event: http://www.drudgereport.com/flash2.htm http://www.spacescience.com/headlines/y2000/ast18feb_1.htm Other than an abrasive shotgun blast of pesky little protons, oddly the impact was minimal. Why? Makes one wonder if earth is protected by some unseen dynamic. Dare we ponder?

3. FINALLY A BOW SHOCK TO TALK ABOUT At this moment 2/23 we are getting jolted around by an event that precipitates out of the mysterious Coronal Holes:

Event:

Coronal Hole

These dark wraiths seem to be growing on the solar surface, extended regions of the CORONA, exceptionally low in density, seem to really blast us with high speed winds, hurricanes, making whatever event-solar more powerful. Earth's magnetometers sometimes go totally off-scale: gopher://solar.sec.noaa.gov:70/I9/plots/goeshp/20000128_goeshp

MOTTO: In an infinite Cosmos all dreams are true. Expressed in another way by an ORBIT reader from the sciences: "It is ironic to see observations of the macro-universe (singularities/black holes) and hear about observations and theories of the micro-universe (non-linear quantum "wormholes") while somehow intuitively understanding that we are looking at a quirky infinite loop where all dreams are possible. Re: gravity is such a long wavelength as to be indistinguishable from matter waves (such as an infinitely long strait line), while muon (sub-electron) waves are calculated to be even longer. These are the regions of astrophysics and sub-atomic physics where our "dimension" interconnects with others." ANON

Robert Anton Wilson: "I find the universe so staggering that I just don't have any faith in my ability to grasp it. I don't think the human stomach can eat everything, and I'm not quite sure my mind can understand everything, so I don't pretend that it can."
